The LNP last night re-opened preselection for the new federal seat of Wright after Ms Ban was disendorsed by the party amid allegations she misused the funds of a 65-year-old man.
It is alleged Ms Ban moved $2.25 million from the sale of a house into a joint-account with the man, despite the Office of the Adult Guardian recently suspending her capacity to act as the man's power of attorney.
The Adult Guardian has taken Ms Ban to the state Civil and Administrative Tribunal demanding she explain at least 17 transfers made from the joint-account, including three to her own account, from July last year.
The LNP State Executive disendorsed Ms Ban last night after she failed to disclose during her preselection campaign that she was facing legal action.
Her husband and campaign manager, Sean Black, said the 32-year-old Logan City councillor would vigorously defend the allegations and rerun for the seat of Wright.
''The odds have always been stacked against Hajnal. She's going to fight,' Mr Black said.
''They [the LNP] have acted too soon and unfairly, but that is the nature of politics.
''Women in politics are put under scrutiny and attacked in this most vile and vicious way and in this case while Hajnal is nursing an elderly relative who is on his death bed.''
LNP state director Michael O'Dwyer said the party had acted in accordance with its standards for all members.
''The party addressed the issue of non-disclosure of information prior to the preselection and its process,'' Mr O'Dwyer said.
''If some of that information had been disclosed perhaps it would have altered the outcome of the preselection itself.''
Mr Black said his wife of nine days had properly managed the funds of her 65-year-old close friend, who is in a nursing home, suffering from medical problems including ''confusion''.
''Hajnal acted properly in accordance with the power of attorney act at every single moment. She is a barrister - she doesn't go and do things half-heartedly,'' he said.
''She does everything with the advice of barristers, solicitors. She did everything with advice.''
He said Hajnal would continue to ''faithfully serve'' the LNP and the constituents of Logan City Council should she failed to win the second preselection round on June 27.
Ms Ban, who will be allowed to re-nominate for the seat, originally defeated former federal Liberal MP Cameron Thompson and Gold Coast City councillor Bob La Castra for the nomination.
''We are a party of high standards and we will enforce those standards at all levels from our general membership of the party through to our elected members,'' Mr O'Dwyer said.
''All candidates are aware of the obligations placed upon them.''
